AMFIE is a cooperative offering a range of financial products, in particular the possibility of a sight savings account remunerated at advantageous rates.

AMFIE is a financial cooperative society ("credit union") whose aim is to foster mutual aid amongst its members. The services it offers are broadly the same as those of a bank. It is recognised both as a "Professional of the Financial sector" and as a cooperative. This mixed status, unique in Luxembourg, means that it is answerable to the laws of Luxembourg governing both the financial sector and the cooperative sector. The - mainly voluntary – work of the executive directors means that AMFIE is able to offer its members a return on their sight savings accounts close to the interbank rate, and to buy investment products on the same terms as a bank, passing the benefits on to members.

AMFIE can neither give investment management advice nor recommend specific investments. The association offers a range of investment instruments among which members can choose freely, comparing them to similar products available on the various financial markets. AMFIE can also help members requiring wealth management services, by putting them in touch with carefully-selected independent advisers or portfolio managers.
